When choosing Nuttall Gear, you are backed by a company with 120 years of design and manufacturing experience with reducers and increasers. Nuttall TDS units operate throughout the world performing every industrial, commercial, utility, and transportation application imaginable. Our paper machine drives are operating at International Paper, Union Camp, Boise Cascade, Champion Paper, and Weyerhaeuser. High speed compressor drives at the Pentagon and Denver International Airport. High speed pump drives at Algoma Steel and Tennessee Valley Authority. Offshore oil jack-up rig drives working from the North Sea to the Gulf of Mexico. Nuttall Gear's TDS units operate grain elevators in Vancouver, Minneapolis, and Houston. TDS units operate at steel and aluminum mill drives such as U.S. Steel, National Steel, Reynolds Metals, and Alcoa. Nuttall Gear also supplies TDS units to the chemical industry such as DuPont. Nuttall Gear has supplied drives for wind turbines, hydro turbines, conveyors, textile mills, extruders, coal crushers, elevators, water screens, rail car dumpers, cranes, hoists, dredging operations, radar drives, and food machinery drives. Our aeration and sewage treatment drives are found in towns and cities across the United States. Nuttall Gear has compressor drives working at NASA, Times Square Commercial Center in Hong Kong, Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia, turbine drives at Formosa Plastics in Taiwan, pump drives operating in Cogen facilities in Thailand and the Philippines, and cooling tower drives operating at Florida Power and Light. Nuttall Gear has a rich history with supplying speed increasers for reactant coolant pumps at nuclear power plants here in the United States and globally.
At Nuttall Gear we understand that it takes more than just good gears to meet your expectations. It also requires attention to detail and a commitment to customer service. These two qualities allow Nuttall Gear to handle the toughest applications in the industry. You will receive your TDS tested and ready to run, not ready to assemble. Inline Speed Reducers
Moduline Type R Concentric in-line shaft speed reducers are available with torque ratings up to 233,000 inch-pounds and standard gear ratios up to 985:1. The Type R design reflects the flexibility of the modular concept to provide a readily available drive closely tailored to popular horsepower selections. All units incorporate precision helical gearing in single, double, triple, and quadruple reductions, rugged cast iron housings, and tapered roller bearings. Ratio changes and servicing is made easy with a removable high-speed end.
Moduline Type R Speed Reducers can be arranged for floor, wall, or vertical mounting. Accessories and modifications include bedplates, outboard bearings, backstops, cooling fans for added thermal capacity, motor mounts, C-Flange adaptors, flexible couplings, taconite seals, OSHA approved coupling guards, special marine duty features, custom output shaft dimensions, taconite seals, and special ratios.
Integral Gear Motors
Moduline Type G Integral Gearmotors are available in ratings from 1 to 200 HP and output speeds from 1.5 to 1430 RPM with AGMA Class I, II, or III service factors. The Type G design incorporates a standardized AGMA motor flange which aligns a NEMA frame footless AC motor to a modular gear-drive which provides a single source motor and gear assembly. Nuttall Gear can offer either standard or high efficiency AC motors with Nuttall Gear’s proprietary non-NEMA AC motor shaft in all types of motor enclosures. The modular gear assembly incorporates precision helical gearing in single, double, triple, and quadruple reductions, rugged cast iron housings, and tapered roller bearings.
Moduline Type G integral gearmotor can be arranged for floor, wall, or vertical mounting. Many modifications, in both mechanical and electrical, such as brakes, special motor insulation, special oil seals, and marine duty are all available.
All-motor
Moduline Type U Scoop Mount Gearmotors are available in ratings from 1 to 200 HP and output speeds from 1.5 to 420 RPM with AGMA Class I, II, or III service factors. Type U design features a dedicated scoop type mount for standard NEMA frame motors. This arrangement is particularly advantageous where a facility has a standardized motor type or where existing motors must be utilized. Nuttall Gear can offer either standard or high efficiency AC motors in all types of motor enclosures. All units incorporate a concentric in-line shaft speed reducer with precision helical gearing in single, double, triple, and quadruple reductions, rugged cast iron housings, and tapered roller bearings.
Moduline Type U Scoop Mount Gearmotors can be arranged for floor, wall, or vertical mounting. Many modifications such as backstops, brakes, motor insulation, slide rails, special shafts, seals, wet end paper mill features, and a variety of mounting positions are available.
C-Face
Type "Veri-Dri" Vertical Concentric in-line shaft speed reducers are available with torque ratings up to 233,000 inch-pounds and output speeds from 1.5 to 780 RPM. The "Veri-Dri" design is similar to the Moduline Type R but incorporates a "dry-well" construction at the output shaft end. This "dry well" helps to prevent possible oil contamination in the product or process and well suited for water treatment, food processing, and chemical duty on aerators, mixers, agitators, and blenders.
All models can be supplied with an integral gearmotor or a NEMA C-Flange motor adaptor. Additional standard features include a bi-directional shaft mounted lube oil pump and oil flow indicators.
