All about metal! Nuttall Gear solutions, field service for iron & steel
Founded in 1887, Nuttall Gear developed and introduced single helical gears, one of the most significant contributions to the field of gear engineering. Today, we are a global leader in complete custom packaged drive assemblies combining both mechanical and electrical components to meet specific customer requirements.
Within the metals markets, our advanced speed reducer technologies and gear sets are designed to withstand harsh steel mill production and processing environments while providing exceptional personnel safety and equipment protection.
Made-in-the-USA gearing solutions include:
- Vertical and horizontal drives
- Speed reducers and increasers
- Worm gears
Nutall speed reducers are used in a wide array of mill applications including annealing, pickling and coating, and galvanizing lines, while our custom designed drives meet high-tension conditions on accumulators, coilers, and down coilers.
Custom multi-shaft leveler drives are designed to meet specific roll separation requirements. Special Nuttall “zero-backlash” drives are utilized on slitters.
