The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) recently completed its Cable Car Barn Propulsion Gearbox Rehabilitation Project. Originally installed in 1982, the gearboxes on the iconic cable car system had eclipsed their design life and were in dire need of overhaul.

Built in 1960, the Rio Vista (Helen Madere Memorial) bridge carries approximately 23,000 vehicles daily across the Sacramento River in Rio Vista, California. The 2,890 ft. long bridge features a 306 ft. long vertical lift span that raises to allow for passage of large freighter traffic. The bridge recently underwent a major renovation, including the replacement of the gearboxes.

The historic Third Street bridge, located next to Giants baseball stadium in San Francisco, recently underwent a major $25M rehabilitation. Designed by Joseph Strauss (engineer of the Golden Gate Bridge), the bridge opened in 1933 and now carries five lanes of traffic across McCovey Cove.

Originally built in 1957, the First Street bridge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin underwent a major overhaul that was completed in 2018. The bascule lift bridge carries more than 7,700 vehicles across the Kinnickinnic River on a daily basis.

The historic Tamiami swing bridge that carries NW South River Drive traffic over the Tamiami canal in Miami, Florida needed to be replaced due to its age. Repeated hits from vehicles and boats since its construction in 1930 also contributed to its deteriorating condition.
